On Saturday 20 September 2025, climbers from across Cheshire gathered at Climbing Hut Ellesmere Port for the long-awaited Krimptonite 2025 Grand Final. After months of qualifiers held across both Ellesmere Port and Shrewsbury, the final round brought together some of the most talented and passionate climbers in the region for a full day of indoor climbing and bouldering in Cheshire.
A True Community Event
From the first climb of the morning, the energy in the climbing gym was electric. The crowd packed in to watch, cheer, and support each competitor as they gave it everything on the wall. What made this year’s final extra special was the team of volunteer judges, all members of our own Climbing Hut community. They kept the event running smoothly, bringing enthusiasm, fairness, and plenty of encouragement throughout the day.We were also proud to see so many of our Climbing Hut squad members competing. Every one of them showed skill, determination, and great sportsmanship. Whether they were pushing for the podium or cheering on their friends, they represented the very best of our climbing community.
Standout Categories
The Vet Female category was a highlight of the day. For many, it was their first time competing, and although the nerves were real in the morning, by the afternoon you could see the confidence growing, along with some new friendships forming. The Teen Female category was fiercely competitive. With GB climbers, MYCS winners, and several of our own Climbing Hut squad kids all taking part, it was an incredible display of young talent. The standard of bouldering was outstanding and truly inspiring to watch.

More Than a Competition
Beyond the climbs and the prizes, Krimptonite 2025 was a celebration of what makes bouldering in Cheshire so special: the people. The laughter, the encouragement, and the sense of shared challenge that filled Climbing Hut Ellesmere Port throughout the day reminded us why we love this sport.
A huge thank-you to everyone who competed, spectated, judged, volunteered, or cheered from the sidelines. You made this year’s final unforgettable.
