A Fun Introduction to Climbing for the Whole Family
Our Family Induction Course at Climbing Hut Ellesmere Port is perfect for families who are new to climbing or want a refresher. This session provides a supportive introduction to climbing for both children and adults, helping everyone gain confidence on the wall together.
Families will learn the basics of climbing, including technique, safety, and wall awareness, in a relaxed and fun environment. The course is designed to be enjoyable for all ages while giving parents and children the skills they need to climb safely.
What the Session Involves
During the Family Induction Course, children aged 7 to 10 years will be assessed in a similar way to our Mountain Goats Induction. This assessment ensures that confident and capable young climbers can progress into the Main Area of Boulder Hut, rather than being limited to the Boulder Zoo, which is usually where under 11s climb.
The session provides guidance on:
Basic climbing techniques for all family members
Safe use of climbing equipment
Wall movement and body positioning
How to climb safely together as a family
This assessment allows children to challenge themselves safely while enabling families to make the most of all areas of the climbing gym.
